Serophene - this is basically the same as Clomid, containing Clomiphene
Citrate as its active ingredient, but sold under the brand name Serophene.
GONADOTROPINS
These work to stimulate a woman's ovaries or help men with hormonal imbalances,
a low sperm count or poor sperm quality or motility, the ability of the sperm
to move. One of the more popular brand names from this category is Gonal-F.
Gonal-F - This drug is a pure preparation of the naturally occurring hormone
called follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). It works works by stimulating follicular
growth so that normal ovulation may occur. Gonal-F is actually the world's leading
treatment for male and female infertility, and is registered in almost 100 countries
around the world.
BROMOCRIPTINES
Bromocriptine is used to treat a number of conditions in women including amenorrhea,
(where the menstrual period does not occur) and infertility (inability to get
pregnant). In this category, we look at the brand called Parlodel.
Parlodel - Parlodel is taken orally, and works to reduce the pituitary gland's
production of the hormone 'Prolactin'. It's known that excess Prolactin reduces
oestrogen levels and inhibits ovulation, an important factor in fertility.
