Effexor Side Effects
Effexor should be taken as per the directions of a doctor. Only a doctor would
be able to determine whether it is suitable for specific persons, as well as
the dosage that would be suitable for them. Effexor side effects are possible

Possible Effexor side effects (Less Common)
Abnormal taste in mouth, decreased sex drive, high blood pressure, itching,
loss of identity, depression, abnormal thinking, agitation, chest pain, confusion,
trauma, twitching, dilated pupils, dizziness upon standing up, rapid heartbeat,
ringing in the ears, urinary problems, weight loss.
Remember, a doctor should always be consulted about any side effects that seem
unusual or that are especially bothersome.It is important to know also, that
other drugs can affect a patient that is using Effexor. Particularly dangerous
side effects can result, so be sure to pay close attention to these warnings:
- Do not take Effexor if you are currently taking or have taken a monoamine
oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil),
or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days
- Effexor may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including
other antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia),
anxiety medicines, anti-psychotics, pain relievers, and muscle relaxants.
Inform your doctor about all medicines that you take, and do not take any
new medicine or prescriptions without first talking to your doctor
- Prescription drugs other than those listed above may also interact with
Effexor. Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking any prescription or
over-the-counter medicines (including herbal products)
