Soma Side Effects

Below also, we outline Soma drug interactions that should be avoided, but as a rule, before you take any prescription or over-the-counter drugs while taking Soma, you should let a doctor evaluate whether or not this will be safe for you.

Possible Soma Side Effects
(These are considered serious and if they happen, you should stop taking it immediately and see a doctor)

• paralysis (loss of feeling) or extreme weakness;
  
• an allergic reaction of some sort (e.g., difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swollen lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
  
• vision loss; or
  
• agitation or tremor

Other Possible Side Effects

• Soma may make you drowsy or dizzy, so exercise caution while doing tasks that are hazardous or require concentration
  
• It may cause an upset stomach - try to take your dosage with food or milk
  
• Headache; depression; blurred vision; insomnia; or hiccups

Soma Drug interactions
Taking certain prescription drugs while you also take Soma, has the potential to increase its effects. If you're taking Soma, speak to a doctor before you take any other prescription or over-the-counter drugs at the same time, but especially if the drugs are included in the list detailed below:

• Antidepressants such as doxepin (Sinequan), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), sertraline (Zoloft), phenelzine (Nardil), and tranylcypromine (Parnate);
  
• Antihistamines such as brompheniramine (Dimetane, Bromfed, others), chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton, Teldrin, others), azatadine (Optimine), clemastine (Tavist), among others;
  
• Sedatives such as phenobarbital (Solfoton, Luminal), amobarbital (Amytal), and secobarbital (Seconal);
  
• Phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine (Thorazine), fluphenazine (Prolixin), mesoridazine (Serentil), perphenazine (Trilafon), prochlorperazine (Compazine), thioridazine (Mellaril), and trifluoperazine (Stelazine); or
  
• Narcotics (pain killers) such as meperidine (Demerol), morphine (MS Contin, MSIR, others), propoxyphene (Darvon, Darvocet), hydrocodone (Lorcet, Vicodin), oxycodone (Percocet, Percodan), fentanyl (Duragesic), and codeine (Fiorinal, Fioricet, Tylenol #3, among others)
